IPEconomy has learned from ip fray that Avanci Electric Vehicles recently announced two new licensees for its Electric Vehicle Charger (EV Charger) program; EvoCharge and LG Corporation.

EvoCharge is understood to be an EV charging station company that provides Level 2 Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE) charging stations and cable management solutions for home and commercial use.

In December 2023, Knowledge Financial reported that Avanci announced a new licensing program for cellular electric vehicle smart grid chargers. The first licensees included Easee, Eaton, and GARO. The program, which was launched less than a year ago, already includes 3G and 4G essential patents from 47 patent licensees, attracting six licensees, including EvoCharge and LG, to join.

Notably, LG became the first cellular SEP holder to be licensed in the pool, and LG is also a licensee in the pool. While the two-way relationship between LG and Avanci EV Charger is a new one in cellular SEPs, it is not the first of its kind in the Avanci patent pool, where, for example, three of Avanci Broadcast's licensees are also licensees.
