On August 31, 2026, Beijing Roborock Technology Co., Ltd. filed a lawsuit against Ecovacs at the Munich Regional Division of the Unified Patent Court (UPC), alleging infringement of its European patent EP4011266. The case number is UPC-CFI-0003142/2026. The two parties have previously engaged in multiple rounds of patent litigation regarding robotic vacuum cleaners, and this marks the first time Stone Technology has proactively filed a lawsuit against Ecovacs in the UPC.

The patent at issue in this lawsuit, EP4011266, is titled “Sealing Structure and Smart Cleaning Apparatus,” with Beijing Stone Technology Co., Ltd. listed as the patent holder. Roborock has named ECOVACS Home Service Robotics Co., Ltd., ECOVACS Robotics Co., Ltd., ECOVACS Europe GmbH, and ECOVACS France S.a.r.l.—all subsidiaries of ECOVACS—as defendants.

Previously, overseas patent litigation between the two parties was primarily initiated by ECOVACS; this case represents a rare instance in which Roborock has taken the initiative to file a lawsuit with the UPC.
